John is one of the founders of the Scottish Global Forum. He holds an MLitt in European Politics from the University of Dundee and a PhD from the same institution. He has lectured extensively in the fields of transatlantic security, the politics of war and military intervention, and American politics. He currently lectures in American politics at the University of Glasgow.
John's research has featured in various journals and periodicals, including European Security, Scottish Left Review, International Studies Today and NATO Review. He has had his research published by Committees in both the Scottish and UK parliaments. He has also completed commissioned projects for a variety of clients. His most recent work has focused upon the various developments associated with Arctic change, and UK defence policy.
Director of SGF since its formation in 2013, John has been involved in a variety of advisory initiatives and consultation projects in the areas of security policy, diplomatic exchange and democracy promotion.

Lindsay holds a first-class honours degree in Politics & History from the University of Dundee. She will pursue a Masters degree in 2017. She has a keen interest in the role of religion in nuances of Yemeni relations, internally and internationally. Her previous work experience has focused on Lean Sigma and process improvement technologies.
In her current role with SGF, Lindsay leads the planning and implementation of SGF's key activities, including scheduling and organisation, and outreach activity.

Media & communications coordinator
Charlotte recently graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in International Relations and Philosophy. Her interest lies in the relationship between global governance and foreign policymaking; she intends to develop her knowledge of this area when she begins a Masters programme in Global Governance and Ethics at University College London in 2017.
In her role as SGF's Media & Communications Coordinator, Charlotte is responsible for maintaining and developing our online presence. She is also responsible for much of our outreach activity and event planning.

European security analyst and research coordinator
Lindsay is a graduate of international law and strategic studies from the universities of Glasgow and Aberdeen. He has previously edited a political journal and has worked in the field of political risk.
As a political analyst and writer, Lindsay's main area of interest is European security, particularly in relation to Russia. As well as leading SGF's analysis and research in these areas, he also writes regularly in the national media on these issues.
Lindsay plays a leading role in the publication agenda for Cable magazine.
